Twinkie “Corn Dogs” – The Cutest No-Bake Treat of the Summer!

Okay, friends—brace yourselves. We’ve got the most ridiculous and adorable July 4th snack ever, and we are OBSESSED. Say hello to our no bake Twinkie corn dogs dessert!

Don’t worry, there’s no actual hot dog involved (we promise). We took store-bought Twinkies, added skewers, and then piped on red and yellow frosting to look like ketchup and mustard. The result? A dessert that totally looks like a fair food classic—but it’s sweet! Or maybe it’s a bit corny? Maybe both?

Twinkie corn dogs are funny, festive, and SO easy to make. Plus, it’s a great no-bake treat to let kids decorate themselves while you prep the fireworks and watermelon.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 box of store-bought Twinkies (Of course, you can make your own homemade Twinkies if you feel so inclined.)
  • Wooden skewers (popsicle sticks or paper straws work too!)
  • 1 tube of yellow decorative icing
  • 1 tube of red decorative icing
  • Optional: piping bags or zip-top bags with a snipped corner (allowing for more control when piping)

How to Make this Twinkie Corn Dogs Dessert

  1. Unwrap the Twinkies and gently insert a skewer into each one to make them “corn dog style.”
  2. Divide the vanilla frosting into two small bowls. Add a few drops of red food coloring to one bowl and yellow food coloring to the other. Stir until smooth and vibrant!
  3. Scoop each colored frosting into its own piping bag (or zip-top bag with the tip snipped off).
  4. Pipe a squiggly stripe of red and yellow down the top of each Twinkie to mimic ketchup and mustard.
  5. That’s it! You’ve got a tray full of sweet corn dog doppelgängers ready for the party table.

Red, White & Blue Fun for All

This one had us giggling so much while we made them. Norah called hers the “deluxe mustard edition,” while Harper went rogue and tried to make a double-decker Twinkie corndog (still not sure how that worked out, but we respect the vision).

These are perfect for Fourth of July parties, cookouts, and backyard BBQs all summer long!. And since there’s no baking involved, it’s an easy win when the weather’s hot and the kitchen is off-limits.

Transport & Serving Tips for Your Twinkie Corn Dogs Dessert

  • These are best served the day you make them, but they’ll keep just fine in the fridge for 1–2 days in an airtight container. But we would recommend you hold off piping on the frosting until right before serving. So much can go wrong – smudging the frosting, etc.
  • Line a tray with parchment paper and pop them in the fridge until party time.
  • Serve on a tray with little flags or sparkly picks for extra flair!
