Visiting the Hispanic Heritage Month Event in El Dorado, Arkansas
We couldn’t miss the opportunity to hit up the Hispanic Heritage Month event in El Dorado! After all, our abuelitos live there and we had to represent our Hispanic heritage! There is a growing number of Hispanic Heritage events in Arkansas in recent years. It’s kind of fun to try out a new one each year!
What to Wear to a Hispanic Heritage Month Event
If you are lucky enough to claim some hispanic heritage, wear it with pride! We love to dress up for these types of events. Normally, we wear our Panamanian pollera dresses or our Panama t-shirts – as you can see in our other post on Hispanic outfits for tweens.
But for this event, we decided to wear our Mexican embroidered dresses – even though we aren’t Mexican. But the dresses are too beautiful to just sit in our closet!
And if you have nothing festive to wear, don’t stress! Don’t let that stop you from going to one of these fun events!

Food at the Hispanic Heritage Month Event in El Dorado
There is delicious food at the event – representing Mexico, Honduras, and other Hispanic countries. We had Mexican street corn, street tacos, hispanic style yogurt drinks, and fresh fruit cups.
Hey, don’t come at us! We (Harper and Norah) don’t like chili powder and other seasonings on our fruit and corn! Mom and Dad call us plain Jane girls!
There were tables set up for eating near the food stations.
Nearby, there was a stage for dancing and singing with bleachers around for the audience.
Performances at the Hispanic Heritage Month Event
Different folkloric entertainment went on throughout the evening. Folkloric dances by women and girls in beautiful authentic dresses were our favorite parts of the entertainment!
There were also mariachi bands and student entertainment as well. The mariachi band was excellent!
During the night, there was a raffle for a bicycle – which was given away at the end of the evening. The tickets for the raffle came from our food tickets for the event.
There was a piñata later in the night for the kids! We didn’t get in line, but it was fun to watch! It took a while before the kids finally took Frida down!
There were also some booths that gave away free merchandise.
We had such fun enjoying the evening! The weather was so nice, and everyone was there to just have a good time with their family.
If you have a chance to visit the El Dorado Hispanic Heritage Month Event in Arkansas, you should definitely give it a try! It is such a nice and well-organized family event! Our abuelitos were so happy we came into town to go this event with them!
