Our grandparents live in Fort Smith, and we consider Fort Smith one of our favorite Arkansas towns!

Once we arrived for our afternoon adventure on a 95 degree day, we were fitted into our shoes and a harness. The Vertical Horizons Climbing Gym employees took us around the building and gave us a tour, and general safety rules and procedures were explained to us.

We weren’t sure what to expect as we are not experienced with climbing. But just like that, we were soaring toward the ceiling!

Not gonna lie. We were pretty proud of ourselves every time we reached the top of a wall. The green wall was a challenge. Of course, Harper and I may have had a little sister rivalry going on! Just understand, I beat her to the top – almost every time!

We spent several hours here, and we saw families with children of all ages enjoying the afternoon at Vertical Horizons Climbing Gym in Fort Smith.

There were also adults without children who were climbing. Some of those people looked like serious business!

Hours for Vertical Horizons Climbing Gym in Fort Smith

Vertical Horizons Climbing Gym in northwestern Arkansas is open Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m to 9 p.m. On Sundays, it is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The facility also offers climbing and bouldering classes and hosts birthday parties. Upstairs is a loft area for birthday parties. If we lived in Fort Smith, we would absolutely want to have a birthday party there!

Wear comfortable clothes and take your water bottles with you because you will build up a thirst! Also, you can buy water at the front desk.
