Our 5th Grade Graduation Details for Inspiration
Well, one chapter is over and a new one soon begins. Today, through teary eyes, we are writing out all the elementary school graduation details! Harper’s 5th grade graduation came faster than any of us were ready for!

Harper the Graduate
First things, first. Let’s recognize our little graduate! We are so proud of our beautiful and kind Harper! (Yes, this is Mom writing this post this time!) How can the elementary years already be over?! It’s unbelievable! I’ve never seen anything fly by so fast!
In our district, elementary school ends with 5th grade. Graduations are held for kindergarten, 5th grade, and 12th grade.
5th Grade Graduation Walk
The girls’ elementary school does an outstanding job with parent-involvement and school events. The parents were invited for a 5th grade graduation walk. The 5th graders walked the halls and high-fived parents all through the halls of the school. All students in the school were also in the halls to cheer on the 5th graders. It was the cutest!
Also, in the halls were a special graduate hallway display for each 5th grader. In the weeks before the 5th grade graduation walk, parents were encouraged to send in sweet graduation notes from friends and family to be added to the display.

Elementary Graduation Songs
The kids have the best music teacher! She led the 5th graders through three graduation songs. They sang perfectly in unison. And the last one – “Once I was 4 Years Old” graduation song which is an elementary graduation twist on “7 Years Old” hit song by Lukas Graham – took all the parents and grandparents down. Talk about a cry fest! (I’ve also seen the “Once I was 7 Years Old” graduation song by JP Wallace – sung at his own high school graduation. Incredible!
These were such good songs for 5th grade graduation!

Photos with the Elementary School Stage Decoration
Rather than using the stage, the ceremony took place on the gym floor since the group was so large and it is easier to see from the bleachers. The school had several nice photo backdrop areas on the gym floor. I believe the great thing about the particular decorations used by the school is that the staff could use the decorations for both the kindergarten graduation and the 5th grade graduation ceremonies.
After the ceremony, parents were allowed to come to the gym floor to find their children and take photos.

5th Grade Graduation Dress Ideas
The kids were told to dress in their Sunday best on the day of the graduation walk and the graduation ceremony (on the same day). Harper chose a bubblegum pink dress to wear with gold high tops and her crossbody gold bag.

But she did try on a few of her other dresses that would have worked great for the occasion as well!
