Entering the Thing 1 and Thing 2 Breakfast

As we entered into the main dining hall for our Thing 1 and Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast, we just had to stop for a little photo shoot at the photo prop!

Then, we passed all the fun blue and red Cat in the Hat decorations as we entered. It was so festive! You know us – we love a good festively decorated occasion! The room was adorned with playful decorations and the tables were set with Dr. Seuss-themed Cat in the Hat place settings, adding to the excitement of the event.

As soon as we settled into our seats, we were greeted by our friendly waiter. Seriously…the servers on our Carnival Valor cruise were all so friendly! Our waiter brought us our drinks while we looked over the menu.

Dr. Seuss Breakfast Menu on Carnival Cruise

The Dr. Seuss breakfast menu on our Carnival cruise was all themed for Dr. Seuss stories, of course. Again, we love a good theme! We have seen some people refer to this green eggs and ham breakfast on Carnival and complain about the food. Personally, we thought the food was good. Was it the best food we’ve ever had in our lives? No, but it was perfectly good food that met a perfectly cute theme.

We paid an extra $15 per adult and $10 per child for this carnival Cat in the Hat breakfast. So this was an additional $50 charge added to our overall cruise bill – meaning the breakfast is an extra (optional) add on cost that you can add on when you book your cruise. Typically, the Thing 1 and Thing 2 birthday breakfast is held on the last sea day of the Carnival cruise.

From green eggs and ham to fluffy stacks of Cat in the Hat pancakes, every item on the menu was a playful nod to the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss. We all ordered different things from the Carnival Dr. Seuss breakfast menu.

Norah enjoyed her waffles.

Meeting the Characters at the Dr. Seuss Breakfast on Carnival Cruise

A few minutes into the breakfast event, the mischievous Thing 1 and Thing 2 characters entered the room and immediately set the tone for a fun-filled morning.

Throughout the breakfast, we were entertained by lively performances from the Dr. Seuss characters, who led us in sing-alongs and interactive games. The energy in the room was infectious, and we couldn’t help but join in the fun, laughing and singing along with the characters. The servers in the room even all got up and danced a few times! Most diners got up out of their seats also.

Taking Photos with Thing 1 and Thing 2 and Dr. Seuss

The highlight of the breakfast was the opportunity to meet and take photos with the iconic Cat in the Hat himself. We also took pictures with Thing 1 and Thing 2. Why wouldn’t they want their pictures made with the guests? It was the Thing 1 and Thing 2 birthday breakfast, after all!

It did seem like the character greetings and the photo opportunities were a bit rushed. But that is probably because the event is only scheduled for an hour or so, and then the servers have to clean up and set the dining room back in order for the regular lunch crowd.

What Ages for Thing 1 and Thing 2 Breakfast on Carnival?

We see a lot of people asking online about what the best ages for Thing 1 and Thing 2 Birthday Breakfast event on Carnival. We saw people of all ages on this cruise – families with younger children, for certain. But there were also families with older kids – into the teens.

And we even saw some adult couples that had no children. One couple told us that the wife simply loves Dr. Seuss and wanted to come. So if anyone in your family enjoys Dr. Seuss and you enjoy a good theme – regardless of age – this can be a fun event for you!

What to Wear to Dr. Seuss Breakfast on Carnival Cruise

There were some people dressed in Dr. Seuss themed t-shirts and such.

For us, it is just as easy to color theme. Wearing shades of red, blue, and white will fit in great at any Dr. Seuss event. To be honest, we didn’t think our Dr. Seuss themed outfits out on the front end – which is not like us. But we didn’t. Luckily, we had packed some dresses and shirts in blue shades and shades of reds and corals that we had already packed.

Our blue and white and red outfits for Dr. Seuss themed breakfast worked perfectly! Pieces in black would work well too since Dr. Seuss brings the black and white fur!
