Finding Pink M&Ms
Easter is the time to find bags of pink M&Ms! Most stores will carry small carrot-shaped bags of pastel colored M&Ms in the Easter sections. We find ours at Walmart every year! I have also seen Dollar General with these in the candy aisle this time of year. If you can’t find the name brand pastel M&Ms, you can opt for the off-brand “carrot” bags.
How To Heat Treat the Cake Mix
Before mixing the funfetti cake mix into the cheese ball mixture, we like to heat treat the flour first.
In a microwave-safe bowl, we put the cup of funfetti cake mix in the microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring after each, for 2 minutes (4-6 intervals) or until the internal temperature is 160 degrees, prior to using. This makes it safe to consume the cake mix by heat treatment.
We let the cake mix cool down a bit before proceeding.
Making a Funfetti Cheese Ball Mixture
In a large bowl, we mix the cream cheese, heat-treated cake mix, vanilla, sprinkles, and white chocolate chips until fully combined. Then we shape the mixture into a ball. If the dough is too soft, place it in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm up.

Making the Easter Funfetti Bunny Butt Cheese Ball Form
To begin, we start by shaping the dessert ball dough into a bunny butt by forming 1 large ball for the body, 2 medium-sized balls for the feet, and 1 small ball for the tail.

Next, we roll each ball in a foil-rimmed tray of shredded coconut.
To assemble the bunny butt, we place the largest ball on a pretty serving platter. The two medium-sized balls are placed under the large ball as the feet. We shape the balls into feet by not making them perfectly round. They need to look a little “knotty” around the edges to really look like bunny feet. Afterward, we press in the small ball as the tail – like a little cotton tail!

The pink M&Ms are inserted into the feet as the little paw pads! We prefer to turn the logos inside so you can’t see them.

What a cute little funfetti bunny butt cheese ball for an Easter party!
