Easy Blueberry Flag Dip (American Flag Food)

Ready to take a dip? Today, we’re talking about our easy blueberry flag dip for vanilla wafers, graham crackers, and fruit! This sweet dip is like a blueberry cheesecake in a bowl! With its pale blue coloring (almost white), this dip is versatile enough for holidays or parties throughout the year. But it’s especially fun when made into a Fourth of July flag dessert dip with blueberries and strawberries!

This sweet dessert dip is modeled after our amazing pink lemonade dip and key lime pie dip. We just love a good dessert dip! And although our caramel apple dip is prepared a bit differently than the others, it is a definite DO!

We played around with our key lime pie dip recipe and made a Fourth of July flag dip for a poolside party. We needed an easy dessert that was more of a finger food than a fork or spoon kind of thing.

There were many rave reviews and recipe requests at the party.

Tips for Blueberry Flag Dip

  • Buy a high-quality blueberry jam. A jam full of flavorful chopped berry bits is the best! You can even whip up your own homemade blueberry jam pretty easily!
  • Start out with 4 tablespoons of blueberry jam. Give a taste test. If you prefer a little more flavor, add another tablespoon.
  • If you wish for a deeper blue hue, add one drop of blue food coloring. We don’t recommend overdoing it on the food coloring.
  • If making an American flag dip, we like to layer one more layer of Cool Whip (about half of a container) across the top to give a truly white layer for the flag. If not making a flag design, then I don’t often worry about adding the extra layer of Cool Whip.

Presentation of Blueberry Cheesecake Dip

Once this blueberry dessert dip has reached a creamy consistency, it’s time to dish it into a nice bowl and set out your favorite dippers for eating. Vanilla wafers are really good, but graham crackers really give this dip a true blueberry cheesecake vibe! You can also use strawberries and other fruit.

Our mom made this dip for a Veteran’s Day potluck at our dad’s work as well as general parties throughout the year. For patriotic occasions, like Veteran’s Day or July 4th, we like to make a flag design with blueberries and strawberries. But for other parties, we simply leave the dip plain and crumble some graham cracker crumbs across the top.

We have fun making the flag design! It doesn’t come out perfect, but special cooking moments like this aren’t about perfection!
