Halloween Bat Frosting Board

This adorable bat frosting board for Halloween couldn't be any cuter! It is more simple to prepare than you might think, and you can customize the board with your favorite sweet treats.

Ingredients
  

Frosting Bat

  • 16 oz Wilton Icing Medium, #2 (2 cups)
  • Food coloring Purple, pink, or other color of choice
  • 2 Candy googley eyes large
  • Black Wilton Sparkle Gel
  • ¾ cup Mini marshmallows

Instructions
 

To Design the Frosting Bat

  • Add purple food coloring to the decorating icing and mix until blended and desired color is achieved.
  • Fit a pastry bag with round piping tip and fill with all of the icing.
  • Print bat template, cut out the shape and trace onto parchment paper if desired. Place it onto the center of your serving board.
  • Trace the outside of the template (or simply freehand) with icing as if you were drawing. Then fill the entire bat shape in using the same process.
  • Smooth the frosting surface using an offset spatula. Touch up the shape of the bat if needed.
  • Add candy eyes. Draw on a tiny mouth.
  • Place mini marshmallows around the entire bat shape to define it. Cut two fangs out of a mini marshmallow and place them under the mouth.

To Fill in Desserts

  • Add brownie bites to the top right and bottom left corners.
  • Add mini bundt cakes to the top left and bottom right corners.
  • Fill in with rest of open white space with a variety cookies, mini cupcakes and brownies.
  • Fill in all extra empty spaces with mini cookies, gummy pumpkins, marshmallows, mini marshmallows and sour worms.
  • Serve your bat frosting board with spoons and plates.

Notes

This dessert board is best served immediately after full preparation.
