Ingredients
- 12 triangle crackers (If you can’t find crackers already in a triangle shape, you can cut square crackers into triangles like we did for our pumpkin pie cheese and crackers.)
- 4 oz whipped cream cheese
- 6 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
- Green onions
This recipe only requires four ingredients. But you have to be careful with the selection of the four ingredients.
Cheese for Easter Carrots Cheese and Crackers
The cheddar should be classic, deep orange so that it mimics a carrot color. This isn’t the time for Mexi-Blend or other blends that include white cheese.
Crackers
When choosing a cracker, try to find triangular shaped crackers. Our favorites are Triscuit Thin Crisps and Town House Pita. There are different flavors of these two varieties. We usually stick with the Two House Pita sea salt version or the Everything version. The Town House Pitas are just slightly larger than the Triscuit Thin Crisps – though taste and texture wise, we prefer the Triscuits.
Whipped Cream Cheese
You will only need to spread on a thin layer of the whipped cream cheese. The cream cheese helps hold the other items – shredded cheese and green onions into place. If you wish, you can use whipped cream cheese with extra flavorings, such as herbs. If you wish, you can make whipped cream cheese right in your own kitchen.
Green Onions
The green onion is sliced into pieces about 2 inches long to mimic the green carrot top. You can also use small stalks of broccoli, or large parsley pieces for the greenery.
Tips and Process for Our Easter Carrots Cheese and Crackers
1. Gather the three supplies along with a cutting board.
2. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on the cracker triangles.

3. Tuck the green onion into the cheese to resemble a carrot top.

4. Next, completely cover the white cream cheese with shredded cheddar cheese.

There were three of us on the factory line so the process for these photos so the process went pretty quickly. The most time-consuming part is spreading on the cream cheese but that is still pretty quick.
Serve on a rustic wooden board. If desired, sprinkle with fresh or dried herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor. You can top the appetizer with honey or maple syrup. You can experiment with different types of crackers – whole grain, seeded, or buttery – to complement the cream cheese mixture.

This Easter carrot cheese and crackers appetizer is an easy crowd-pleaser with minimal prep time! This light, elegant appetizer adds a playful, unexpected twist to your Easter table.
