Make Snowman Pancakes – The Cutest Snow Day Breakfast Ever!
Snow day = pancake play day, right? The second the flakes started falling, we knew exactly what we wanted to make: Snowman Pancakes! And by falling flakes, we just mean we saw on the news that somewhere else in the United States was getting snow. Because…you know…this is Arkansas! Seventies and sunny on Christmas Day around here!
These breakfast snowmen are made by stacking three pancakes in a row to form the body, and then decorating with fun little toppings like chocolate chips, blueberries, shaved carrots, and even mini candy bars (leftover Halloween stash for the win!). It’s an easy project that turns breakfast into a cozy craft—and every snowman has its own personality!

We made a big batch of pancakes and then everyone got to decorate their own snowman however they wanted. And no surprise, Harper made the fanciest scarf and Norah gave hers a full-on candy bar hat. We had so much fun—and the kitchen smelled amazing, too!
What You’ll Need for Snowman Pancakes
- A batch of pancakes (store-bought mix, frozen, or homemade—any size works!)
- Chocolate chips (buttons and eyes)
- Blueberries (also great for eyes or buttons)
- Shaved carrots (a tiny sliver works perfectly as a nose!)
- Mini or fun-size candy bars, unwrapped and cut if needed (for hats)
- Optional extras: whipped cream, powdered sugar “snow,” syrup, or fruit for scarves

Pancake Snowman Assembly Tips:
- Use three pancakes of different sizes (small-medium-large) or just stack three similar ones in a line from top to bottom.
- Place them slightly overlapping or touching to look like a real snowman.
- Decorate the face first—chocolate chips or blueberries for eyes and mouth, a carrot shaving for the nose.
- Add buttons down the middle using chocolate chips or fruit.
- Make a little hat by placing a mini candy bar at the top pancake (we used fun-size Snickers and Milky Ways from our Halloween bucket!).
- Get creative with scarves—fruit leather, apple slices, or whipped cream strips all work! We remembered at the last minute that we had some sour candy ribbons that worked well as a scarf.

Our snowmen underwent some changes before we were finally ready to reveal (consume) the final result!

Snow Day Fun for the Whole Fam
This is the perfect thing to do on a snowy morning or cozy weekend. Everyone gets to be creative, the mess is minimal (for pancakes, anyway!), and you get a warm, tasty breakfast at the end. We even set out the ingredients buffet-style so each person could build their own little snow-friend.
But you know we love a good snowman food – like our snowman snack board, melting snowman cupcakes, and snowman Oreos. Bring on all the cute snowman food so we can, at least, pretend to live in a winter wonderland! Another fun snow day food is our recipe for snowflake pancakes – found on our sister website.
It was one of those mornings that felt super special without needing a fancy plan—just pancakes, toppings, and some laughs around the table.
