15 Spook-tacular and Sassy Party Themes for Halloween for Teens and Tweens
Halloween parties don’t have to be all jump scares and dark haunted houses. Sometimes the best parties are the ones that lean into the cute and clever side of spooky season—especially when you’re planning sassy Halloween party themes for teens and tweens who want to have fun, be creative, and of course, snap lots of photos for Instagram or TikTok.
At our house, we love a good party theme (the wittier, the better). So we pulled together some of our favorite punny Halloween party ideas—perfect for a girls’ only kind of thing or a bestie bash with boys and girls. Some of these themes we have already done ourselves and others are on our to-do list!

Let’s BOO-gie
Turn the living room into a mini dance club! Think disco ball, glow lights, and a killer playlist of pop hits and Halloween classics. For snacks, go neon—bowls of candy in bright colors, or even glow-in-the-dark cups for punch. Add a ghost-shaped backdrop for the ultimate photo corner. We did a Let’s BOO-gie party a few years ago, and it was such a groovy time!
Hey, Boo!
This theme is all about cute ghosts and plenty of photo ops. You could set up a white sheet photo backdrop with glitter balloons for all those selfies and set up a station where friends can make tissue ghost lollipops. For food, you can serve ghost frozen banana pops, or marshmallow pops. It’s playful, simple, and looks super chic in party pics.
Frights & Bites
If you’ve got a foodie crew, this is the theme to pick. Invite everyone to bring a “spooky snack” to share—mummy Oreo truffles, pumpkin-shaped Rice Krispie treats, peanut butter eyeballs, you name it. Set the mood with dim lighting and serve everything on black or orange platters.
Monster Mash-Up
For the friends who love being silly, this party is all about mash-ups. Host a karaoke contest with monster voices, or set up a costume mash-up challenge where you combine two random ideas (zombie ballerina? vampire cheerleader?). Add monster-themed decorations and keep the playlist upbeat. Don’t forget some fun monster mash snacks! We have our cute monster Oreo balls and orange Fanta float idea plus a whole collection of fun monster snacks!
Creepin’ It Real
This theme is all about silly spider fun! Think purple and green decorations, goofy googly-eyed spiders hanging from webs, and snacks like “spider leg” pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate. You could even have a “creepiest crawl” dance-off where everyone shows off their best spooky moves. Make spiderweb dip, spider Oreo cookies, and spider lollipops ahead of the party!
Let’s Wrap This Party Up
This one’s a total hit for any tween Halloween bash. Turn your living room into a mummy museum with white streamers hanging everywhere, and have a “Wrap the Mummy” race where friends team up with rolls of toilet paper. Serve up mummies in a blanket, mummy applesauce pouches wrapped in gauze, and mummy brownies. Don’t forget the mummy Nutter Butters!
Into rap music? Turn this party theme into a “Wrap and Rap Halloween” theme party by sticking to the same ideas above but playing a mix of traditional Halloween songs and kid-friendly rap music!

Pumpkin Palooza
Not into spooky? No problem. A pumpkin-themed party is perfect for painting, carving, or even decorating mini pumpkins with stickers and sequins. Additionally, for food, you can snack on our pumpkin frosting board, Halloween pumpkin dip, pumpkin-shaped cookies or sip pumpkin spice hot cocoa while you work on your creations.
Glows & Ghouls
Turn off the lights and break out the glow sticks! Highlighters, glow face paint, and neon balloons set the stage. Serve glow in the dark food and drinks and let everyone doodle on a black poster board with neon chalk.
Let’s Go, Ghouls
Throw some western vibes into your Halloween decor for this fun fusion of cowgirl Halloween! Add some kid friendly western letter board quotes along with some standard Halloween decorations and your ghouls will have a blast!
Let’s Glow, Ghouls
Or maybe you want to forget the western flair and go for a Halloween spa night or make up party! Add some disco balls to for an all around fun disco theme! We had so much fun at our disco Halloween sleepover! We had a Halloween themed dirty soda bar, and we have the free downloadable Halloween dirty soda menu right here for you! And we had the cutest custom cookies made for party favors. See more all the details about our recent Let’s Glow, Ghouls party.

Batty Friends
Lean into all things batty! Decorate with hanging paper bats on the walls and ceilings, serve “bat wing” snacks (buffalo wings or even bat-shaped tortilla chips), and hand out bat ear headbands for group photos. Also, add a black-and-purple color scheme with twinkly string lights, and your space instantly feels fang-worthy.
For food, don’t miss our bat frosting board! It is so cute and fun for kids to help make! You can also use a bat cookie cutter to cut simple sandwiches – like PB&J or ham and cheese – into bat-shaped sandwiches!
Happy Boo-Day!
This Halloween birthday theme is just what calls for those October birthdays! Join up the fun of Halloween and birthdays all in one celebration! Our creepy red orange Halloween drink is just the party punch idea you need!
Boo-llerina Party
Our boo-llerina Halloween birthday party is a theme our Mom invented when we were younger. We were still deep into the love of all things dance and ballerinas. She combined that with the fun of Halloween for our fall birthdays. You can see more of our Boo-llerina party on our other site – perfect for young girls!

No Tricks, Just Treats
For the sweet tooth crew! Build a candy buffet with jars of gummies, chocolates, and candy corn. Set up a decorate-your-own cookie or cupcake bar, and give everyone cute little treat bags to fill. Bright, colorful décor works best here—think candy stripes and pastel pumpkins.
Also, you can set up a station for kids to make their own cute Halloween juice boxes, – or make them ahead of time as a party drink.
Candy Corn Cuties
Finally, bring all the candy out for the cute gathering of tweens in their finest costumes! Decorate with candy corn theme – or just a general candy theme – for maximum fun! Additionally, for a fun dessert, serve this no bake candy corn lush!

Extra Tips for Moms and Teens
- Invites: Match the wording to your theme (“Join the Boo Crew!” or “Let’s BOO-gie All Night”).
- Decor: Mix DIY pieces with a few store-bought touches to save time and money.
- Photo Ops: Teens live for Insta-worthy backdrops. Balloons, sheets, glitter, or even just a themed sign can do the trick.
- Party Favors: Glow sticks, themed cookies, or mini pumpkin candles are always a hit.
Halloween doesn’t have to be all creepy—it can be fun, fabulous, and a little bit punny. Whether you’re going for a disco vibes dance-party vibe with Let’s BOO-gie or cozying up with pumpkins for Pumpkin Palooza, the most important thing is celebrating with your favorite people!
